United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a young country in southwestern Asia, located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. The date of establishment of the state is considered to be December 2, 1971: on this day six emirates declared the establishment of the federation, in 1972 the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah joined the federation. The UAE consists of: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm al-Quwain, Fujairah and Sharjah.

The capital of the emirates is Abu Dhabi. The country is washed by the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The west and south state are bordering with Saudi Arabia in the south-east and with Oman in the north-east. The vast majority of the population of the UAE is made up of guest workers from South and Southeast Asia. Representatives of the indigenous population are the Sunni Muslims. The basis of the political system of the UAE is a federation of absolute monarchies. The head of state is the emir of Abu Dhabi, the head of government is the emir of Dubai.

The economy of the Emirates is based on oil exports and tourism; the significant funds are allocated for the development of these areas. The time is never changed for the daylight saving purposes.
